Dr Ireash ‘Rishi’ Weerasinghe

Dr Rishi grew up in Geelong and has always loved the laid back lifestyle that Torquay and the Surf Coast offers. Dr Rishi loves meeting people and getting involved in the community. He is an avid guitar player and is currently trying to convince Dr Yvette that they should get a puppy.

Dr Rishi has a passion for cosmetic dentistry and dental implants and has done considerable further study in advanced dental techniques. He has operated in multiple large clinics in Brisbane, having also worked as a visiting dentist specifically tackling challenging dental cases. His main goal is to create awareness and bring these advanced techniques to the Surf Coast.

Dental achievements:

  • Graduate of The International Academy of Advanced Dentistry (IAAD) Comprehensive Implant program
  • Completed Oral Plastic Surgery program though the Centre for Advanced Dental Education in minimally invasive soft tissue grafting for teeth and implants
  • Trained under Specialist Dr Juan Francisco in Implants and Predictable Grafting (BioHorizons Implant Course)
  • Attended AICE (Australian Institute Continuing Education in Dentistry) program in restoring function and aesthetics in complex wear cases
  • Attended numerous courses on cosmetic dentistry – including resin and porcelain veneers (Australian Dental Association)

Dr Annas Ayoub

Bachelor of Dental Surgery (University of Adelaide) 

Dr Annas was hand picked by Dr Rishi and Dr Yvette as he shares the same passion for dentistry and quality care. He continually strives for excellence and shows deep empathy and care towards all his patients.

 

In his spare time Dr Annas enjoys keeping fit and skiing, even though he does not have much talent for it! He is much better in the dental clinic than he is on the slopes. He has had a strong focus on continued education throughout his career to ensure that he stays on top of the mountains of new research and techniques every year. His strongest area of focus is smile-rejuvenation from broken down teeth, aligning crowded teeth and surgery.

  • Completed his Post Graduate Diploma in Digital Orthodontics and Clear Aligners
  • Attending numerous courses root canal treatment and treating anxious patients
  • Completing numerous courses on resin and porcelain veneers through the Australian Dental Association

Dr Yvette Fahey

BDSc (Hons) University of Queensland

Dr Yvette grew up in Canberra and has been convinced by Dr Rishi that the Surf Coast is the most beautiful place in the world – and she agrees. Before setting up Torquay Dental Dr Yvette has enjoyed working throughout Queensland and is happy to finally be escaping the heat and loves the lifestyle Torquay has to offer. In her spare time, Dr Yvette loves cooking, watching movies and spending time with family and friends.

Dr Yvette absolutely loves dentistry. She particularly likes working with anxious patients and feels an incredible sense of achievement when she is able to work with her patients to overcome dental anxieties. She also loves working with children. Dr Yvette has undergone further training which allows her to use facial injectables (anti-wrinkle injections and dermal filler) and loves making patients feel good about themselves. Dr Yvette has also undergone extensive training in orthodontic treatment (Braces).

Dental achievements:

  • Graduate of Progressive Orthodontic Seminars 2 year mini-residency program in Orthodontics.
  • Completed AADFA (Australasian Academy of Dento-Facial Aesthetics) training on the use of cosmetic injectables in dentistry.
  • Attended numerous courses on treating anxious patients and anxiolytic techniques including training in the use of Nitrous Oxide (happy gas) and extensive relaxation techniques (Australian Dental Association).
  • Attended numerous courses on cosmetic dentistry – including resin and porcelain veneers (Australian Dental Association)

Dr Jessica Woods

Doctor Of Dental Surgery (University of Melbourne) 

Dr Jess completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery at Melbourne University, and after moving locally she has gained experience in both public and private dentistry, as well as numerous dental volunteer programs.

Dr Jess is known for her caring and empathetic nature and prides herself on being able to treat the most anxious of patients, both young and old. She spends time understanding her patients’ needs so she can deliver patient-focused care, which is why she has developed such a strong following! Even though Dr Jessica is proficient in all aspects of general dentistry, she continues to strive with further learning and has a special interest in root canal therapy and orthodontics/fixed braces.

Outside of Dentistry Jess enjoys playing soccer, spending time with her pooch and trying, but failing, at growing a veggie patch.

Dental achievements:

  • Currently completing her 2-year residency in Progressive Orthodontic Seminars in fixed braces and clear aligners.
  • Certified in the use of nitrous oxide and conscious sedation for anxious patients through the Australian Dental Association
  • Completed further training in root canal therapy through Symbron Endodontics

Teresa Tran – Oral Health Therapist

Teresa is extremely professional and caring in every aspect of her work and in a short time has made a positive impact on our patients’ oral health. She has been hugely appreciated by even our most nervous of patients, which is testament to her gentle touch and calming approach. Working along side our dentists, she has taken our mission to providing ideal dental care to the Surf Coast to the next level.
Teresa enjoys travelling in the hopes of finding good food and adventure. She loves spending time with family and friends and enjoys listening to music and reading books. She is also a massive cinema buff.

 

Dental achievements:

  • Been involved in research projects on oral care and advice for orthodontic patients
  • Participation in outreach programs such as Chompers and Pearly Whites
  • Further training in kids dentistry through the Australian and New Zealand Society of Paediatric

    Dentistry.

Rachel Hughes – Oral Health Therapist

Bachelor Of Oral Health (La Trobe University)

Rachel has been working as an Oral Health Therapist in public and private dentistry for 8 years. She grew up in North Queensland, and made her move to Victoria to complete her studies and doesn’t have any plans to head back to the heat. Before starting at Torquay Dental, Rachel spent time establishing a school dental van program for Geelong and the Surf Coast region, as well as servicing the Colac District. It’s no wonder she is an absolute hit with our younger patients!

Rachel is passionate about servicing the community and our health care system, which has led her to continue her studies. She is currently finishing a Master of Public Health and is enjoying the challenges which come with this. In her spare time you can find Rachel out on the golf course, or cooking up a storm in the kitchen.

If you want to experience the most gentle and thorough clean, or have an anxious child with any type of dental phobia, then we can’t recommend Rachel enough.
